Description A series of photographs portray a typical active high school girl holding her family pet dog, her school portrait, and posing in her cheerleading uniform. In her young voice she describes her first cigarette and immediate addiction. One day she woke up with a sore throat and after a doctor visit found out she had a laryngeal tumor. The photos cut to a brief video of the current day Terrie Hall who has a stoma in her neck and a very raspy voice. With difficulty she repeats the words she heard from the doctor all those years ago, “We’re going to have to take your voice box.”
