Welcome! If you're
just tuning in,
here's a quick rundown
of where we're picking up
from the introduction video.
There, you learned how to
register, log on, and navigate
the MCRC site to
search and find specific ads.
In this video, you'll find
out how to place your order,
request cost information, and
learn about use agreements.
Starting now
with "Placing an Order,"
the first step is to place the
ad you've chosen in your cart,"
just like you would at many
other online shopping sites.
You'll also see a message
letting you know your ad
is in your Shopping Cart.
Items stay in your Shopping
Cart for up to one week.
As this reminder states,
after 60 minutes of inactivity,
you'll be logged
out of the system.
So, be sure to
return within a few days
to complete your order.
If you have questions not
related to cost about
any item in your
cart, you can select the
"Questions about
this Ad" button,
and type in what
you want to know.
If you have'
questions about cost,
I'll explain the cost
process shortly.
An ad is listed as
free in the MCRC
when there are
no fees associated with its use.
Some ads are not listed as
free, and their talent, music,
holding, or other fees need to
be negotiated by MCRC on your
behalf using the specific use
information you provide.
These are generally
referred to as "Paid Ads."
Once your cart
contains all the items
you wish to request
in one order,
select "Proceed to Checkout."
This dialogue box will then
appear stating that
your estimate will
be generated
in 24 to 48 hours and,
if your items are free,
they'll be sent directly to you.
So, when you select
"OK" on this screen
and if all the ads in your order
are free, you will be asked to
enter a few more details on an
additional screen
(which we will see shortly when
we discuss paid ads).
Then, this completes your
order and an F-T-P download
of the ad or ads will be
emailed to you within
five to seven
business days.
Done.
If you have "paid" ads in your
cart, the process is different.
When you select "OK," you're
not actually ordering the ad;
you're only
beginning the process of
requesting a cost estimate.
Paid ads take a bit longer to
deliver,
so we recommend grouping your
ads into two separate orders
if you want both free
and paid ads.
Placing your free ads in their
own order will allow us to
process them faster,
while your paid ads are waiting
on their cost estimate.
So, going back to "Proceed
to Checkout" for
the paid ad process,
I'll now explain "Requesting
Cost Information.
