For the years analyzed, the Medicaid population aged 20 years and older in Michigan was primarily non-Hispanic white, followed by non-Hispanic black.

Diagnoses for medical conditions within Medicaid data come from inpatient and outpatient claims submitted by providers for the fee-for-service sections of Medicaid. Only patients 20 years old and above with >3 months eligibility of Medicaid were included for the analysis.
