To increase awareness of the types of drinks that include added sugar and the health consequences of consuming sugary drinks.
Increase awareness of the types of drinks that include added sugar and the consequences of drinking beverages with added sugar by encouraging parents to choose water or low-fat milk instead of sugary drinks for their young children.
Ads were developed in partnership with a Community Consultant and adjusted according to feedback from focus groups. During and following the campaign, intercept surveys indicated those who were exposed to the ads were more likely to be able to correctly identify the types of beverages that contain added sugar, and were less likely to “intend” to give sugary drinks to their children.
