Overview

The Alcohol-Related Disease Impact (ARDI) application enables users to easily access alcohol impact measures and to generate a variety of reports using either default data contained within the application or custom data that users can provide.

The ARDI Home Page

The Home Page allows you to select and view information and consists of the following sections:

Choose Report — Select the report that you want to run.

Choose Location — Select a location to include in the report.

Working with Custom Data

  • To use custom data, you must log in in as a registered user.
  • The custom data section allows you to:
    • View data sets (both default and those you created)
    • Create edited copies of both default and custom data sets
    • Delete custom data sets you created
    • Create new custom data sets.

The following are examples of how the custom data section in ARDI can be useful:

Epidemiologists may enter custom data and generate detailed reports in the course of performing research on the impact of excessive alcohol use in a given population or location. They may also modify data to perform “what if” scenarios to assess the impact of a change in one or more data points to inform efforts to prevent excessive alcohol use.

Program specialists may use custom data to quickly answer specific questions (for example, How many alcohol-related deaths were there in a state during a given timeframe?) These results can be used to inform program and policy decisions.
